Hand-weaving as an OBSESSİON !!!

Some good seven years ago, I had shared this technique ( HERE & HERE ) developed by myself. I am back to it and have been enjoying varieties with colors. As to what i may do with the scraps remains a mistery. The weaving is a great therapy and distraction from the world's terrible situation these days. Though they are amorphic and in different sizes, I may felt them someday or alternatively use them as patchwork. They all are made with pure wool threads.

1884 Sampler

Can be purchased EXCLUSIVELY at

Ant of Sweden

The original is stitched on canvas with wool thread (background silk). There is no name, nor a date on it. The sampler is tacked to a cupboard which was framed with a newspaper. And that is how I named the sampler; there is a date on it!

I have not reduced the size of the images below. Please click on them if you wish to examine the details.

The edging completed ... I think it was a good idea to keep the color with the lighter of the variegation.

Beautiful colors ... This time I'm knitting "Triangular Lace Scarf in Leaf Pattern" from the book Estonian Lace by Nancy Bush. I shall be replacing the lace edge with another pattern though. I have an edging by Nicky Epstein in mind.
